Patients undergoing chemotherapy are at risk for infection. Many had to return to their clinic the following day, when they were feeling their worst, for an injection to increase their white blood cell counts.

Amgen helped to alleviate this additional hardship by offering its existing drug, Neulasta, in an on-body injector.
